POPE JOHN’S GARDEN – A Special Home
Pope John Garden is situated in near Madhavaram, a Northern Suburb of Chennai city in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu.
Pope Johns Garden is the home for the 60 HIV infected children and 102 Leprosy patients. Around 250 home based children care is also done from here. There are two Salesians, 3 Charles Borromew sisters, along with one doctor, twocounselors, two nurses and two Wardens.These people work as a team in rendering their service and offering care & Protection for these marginalized children and elders.
Despite social stigmas and health problems the children are regularly going to school. They are supported with proper counseling and adherence to treatment and psychological support. They all maintain good health and are growing well physically, psychologically and educationally.
