Don Bosco “Anbu Illam” – Salem

img_0691Don Bosco ‘Anbu Illam’ at Salem provides sustenance and educational adoption to destitute street children, particularly those without homes and family ties, children especially vulnerable to abuse and exploitation, children of pavement dwellers.

At any time, at least 100 street children are given shelter and protection with food. Contact centres are functioning at important locations in the town such as, bus-stand, railway station, main bazaar, etc. to serve as an information centre about missing and/or street children.

Don Bosco ‘Anbu Illam’ aims at ensuring full and wholesome development of the destitute children through education and prevention of destitution and withdrawal of children from a life on the street and their placement into national mainstream through educational adoption.

Beneficiaries: At least 50 street children and working children are apprehended, cared with free accommodation, food, healthcare, recreation and education.
