BRINGING SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD AMONG TRIBALS OF YERCAUD

Livelihood is much important for every individual to earn and fulfil the basic needs of the life. The Retreat-Don Bosco’s Shevaroyhills Tribal Development Institute (STDi) a wing of SPS India foundation has conducted the training program in Nursery Plantation & propagation to the tribal women of Yercaud. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Alphonsa, who got motivated in the training, has come forward to propagate plants and make livelihood through it. Since, her husband is jobless due to pandemic stricken situation and her dream of propagating plants was not easy an achieving end. Hence, she approached STDi for the financial support. STDi which has been working to bring sustainable livelihood among the tribals of the hills gave her financial aid of Rs.10,000/- She was given the check in the presence of Fr. Abraham, the Administrator, Fr. Selvakumar, the Director of STDi and the staff. STDi wishes her to have best future.
