SHG Tranings at Vilathikulam – July 2017

Self-help group women from Punnagai and Vasantham group from Subramaniapuram village participated in the training. The training session was arranged in Vilvamarathupatti Village. Morning session started at 9.30 AM and Mrs.Muthulakshmi shg member welcomed the participants.

Fr. Arockiam Sdb interated and explained the objectives and functions, vision & mission of rotary sponsored WoMEn 1000+ project motivated the women by explaining how to become a successful entrepreneur? How  to choose the income generating activities? etc., He has also guided the women on how to overcome and face the problems faced by rural women and how to solve it by law. He has explained various Indian laws applicable to women in terms of child abuse, Marriage act, Family law etc.,

The 2nd session started after the break and Mr. Jayaseelan interacted with the women and made them to understand the financial status of rural women and importance of savings. The women also learnt the rules and responsibilities of self-help group member, the SHG leader and how to avail government schemes etc., Small activity game conducted to understand how to solve the conflict between the group members.

Self-help group women from Maruthan and Nanal group participated in the training. The session started after the welcome speech of Mrs. Subathra and Fr. Anto sdb started explaining the opportunities available in villages for income generating activities, what are the possible business opportunities available etc., He has also explained them about the skills required to be a successful entrepreneur and a leader, how to develop the leadership skills, and importance of planning to tackle the problems faced in business.

The 2nd session was animated by Mr. Devaraj .The women learnt the skills of filing, documentation, recording and accounting. Few real life examples were given to understand the concepts of fixation of price for the product, How to market the product in wholesale and retail market and calculation of profit.
