WoMEn 1000+ Training – August 2017
Business Skills for SHG:
On 4th of August, around 26 SHG women of Santhi Marichiamman and Periasamy Self-Help group attended the training. The training session was animated by Fr. Arockiam, Director of Vembu Trust and Mr. Jayaseelan. The training session focused on imparting business skills such as loan management and savings to the Women Entrepreneurs. This was one of the areas where the women needed expert training so that they could make effective use of the loan they borrow and to effectively manage cash in the business activity they undertake.
This training also focused on emphasizing the importance of savings. More often than not women tend to spend all the income they get from their business. This training has helped the Women to know and understand the importance of saving in the sustainability of their Micro Enterprises. The training also gave space for the women to discuss the current issues they face in the society. And also the legal interventions that are available to them.
On 12th of August, 2017, Self Help group women from Punnagai and Vasantham SHG attended the training on Entrepreneurial skills and documentation. 26 women attended this daylong training program held at Vilvamarathupatti, Thoothukudi. The training session was conducted by Fr. Anto and Mr. Devaraj. The training sessions were interactive with lots of activity-based learning. And the women were trained on various skills of documentation.
Upgrading Programme for Field Workers:
On 19th August 2017 field workers had monthly follow-up meeting at VEMBU Trust office. Around 13 field workers participated in the Practical module. Fr. Arockiam sdb, animated the training session and Mr. Vijay shared and discusses his experiences and difficulties faced by the animators in the field.
