Area of focus: Economic and community development

Which goals will this project support?

  • Building the capacity of female entrepreneurs, local organizations, and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities;
  • Developing opportunities for productive work;
  • Reducing poverty in underserved communities

How will these goals be met ?

  • By providing micro credits for setting up of viable micro enterprises and Income Generating Activities by which the SHG-women gain increased income and increased participation in the (local) economy.
  • By developing entrepreneurial skills and enhancing vocational skills and transferring relevant expertise among the target group.
  • Improving the capacity of the local NGO to provide sustainable training and guidance programs for the target group by enhancing training and consulting skills of the Cluster Coordinators (The Field Workers) and providing them with the necessary programs and relevant resources (BoK Body of Knowledge) to facilitate the continuity and sustainability of the Micro Credit activities of the NGO.

The Body of Knowledge (BOK) represents the complete set of concepts, terms, and activities that make up the domain of setting up and expanding micro enterprises and IGA’s. It comprises documents that define that knowledge – a collection of terms; a professional reading list; a library; a website or a collection of websites; a description of professional functions; a collection of information.
