Basin Bridge – SPS ME !
Basin Bridge is one of the two project sites for “SPS ME !” project. The project is implemented through Surabi and DBSSS(Don Bosco Social Service Society) both Salesian organisations. Basin Bridge is located in the Northern part of Tamil Nadu in the capital city of Chennai. This is one of the oldest settlements in Chennai. This locality consists of mainly slum dwellers and people from lower economic status or the urban poor.
In Basin Bridge, the project was initiated in February 2016. And 36 women from three self-help groups are benefiting through the project. Each of them are provided with a credit, to an extent of Rs. 15,000/- from the loan fund Rs 5,40,000/-. SPS ME ! is beginning to show impact in the lives of these women.
